Another Load of Great Collins Kit Arrives
These two items will complete my Collins S-Line and I am sorry grateful for the person that so kindly let me take over the care of sweet equipment, especially as these two bits of equipment has come in looking as though they are in the same unbelievable condition.
Collins 312B-4 Station Controller

Collins did this right, when they were bringing out boxes like this the others also did it, but it seemed as though it was an afterthought and never as pretty, this is an item that I have not seen before, certainly up close.

I am amazed at the condition of these items, they basically look mint and as they would of back when they were made, it certainly saves a hell of a lot of work, and I suppose a great plus for putting your prised kit in vacuum bags if they are being stored for a while.

It does not matter where I look around this Cabinet, even the Underside of the Collins 312B-4 Station Controller looks basically brand new and I am so happy to take over the care of this unit, it does mean that I will have a lot more dusting to do, let alone the dust covers that will have to get when these finally get setup in what will be my Vacuum Tube Radio Room.

I was expecting the rear of the Station Controller to look a bit worse than the rest of the case but even this looks brand new and there are no signs that it has even been used, It is really great find and I cannot wait to get all these units connected up.
Collins 75S-3B HF Receiver

I was told that this was one of his (The Previous Owner) prised possessions, he told me that he remembers saving up for this when he was at college and he purchased this for $400 back in 1964, I was not even thought about back then being a year before I was born, and yet this looks a lot nicer than I do, it has certainly aged much better than I have.

My first look at the inside of the Collins 75S-3B HF Receiver, and At Last! Something that needs cleaning, it is a little dusty, and by little it could be overlooked but not by me, I will attack it with cotton buds and a suitable chassis cleaning product, and it should come up looking a little bit cleaner than it is. This is not a dirty by a long shot, for a bit of kit that has been very much looked after, cherished and used, this was not just sat on a desk, it has been used and not abused from when it was fir purchased by a college student back in 1964 and it is only because the previous owner wanted it to go to someone that will cherish it as much as he had.
I am so grateful to take over the care of these beautiful old Collins Radio kit and before anyone asks, NO it will not Ever be for sale whilst I am living, I owe this to the person that I got these beauty’s off.
